Fog around the Hudson

Words + Photos by Michael Surtees | 10.31.14
On an early morning in January I was following the Hudson River northward on my bike. Its a pretty common ride for me, it’s my go to route when I travel on two wheels. This particular morning was different though. There was an incredible amount of fog that change how everything I was used to looking at. There was a focus on the immediate surrounding environment. Nothing was viewable except what was in front of me. The light found the most dramatic angles. Usually on my bike I’m going with singular purpose. That early morning ride offered up more than just a reason to keep my head down and peddle.
